Hola

Hello All!

I've created this blog at the urgings of my family who would like to peep through a small window into my life thousands of miles away in Buenos Aires. I know that you "yankees" may be confused by the name or the blog, but "Allie in Argentina" was taken and everything else sounded very silly. "Como Andas" is a popular greeting in many Spanish-speaking countries, including Argentina. It is an informal greeting used to say "what's up?" or "how's it going?" Literally, it means "How are you walking?" but no one thinks of it that way- same as how no English speaker hears "What's shakin'?" and scans the room for a trembling object. So, "Como Anda Allie" roughly means "How are things going in Allie's life?"

I will try to write in this thing as frecuently as I can and post some pictures as well. Hopefully yall will enjoy what I share with you!

When I arrived at the Airport in Buenos Aires, Melisa, one of the coordinators of the program, said "Hoy empiezan las aventuras." (today begins the adventure). One can only hope she was right!

Chau!
